Postsecret project

PostSecret is an ongoing community mail art project, created by Frank Warren in 2005, in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. Selected secrets are then posted on the PostSecret website, or used for PostSecret's books or museum exhibits.

The idea of this project is to express views, deeply felt, that would be hard, or impossible to express. Anonymity is the key to the success of the original project, so for  a GCSE or A level project, the students need to be made aware that the content of the messages must be appropriate to the audience!

The task seems relatively straightforward, but much harder if you have to take the photograph  yourself. An image, once taken, edited and printed to 6x4 inches is then added to by either writing on the image, or writing on another piece of paper which is then stuck on to the image.

The example below was created to illustrate how the technique can be used in a more light-hearted manner.
